These can be broadly divided into two different treatment types, but there are cases when both options may be used to achieve the desired effects.

Wrinkle and line reduction.
The areas used for this treatment include: the deep frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet wrinkles around the eyes and horizontal forehead lines. The ideal result smoothes and softens these lines, but still leaves some natural expression.

This procedure uses very small quantities of the Botulinum toxin. It must be understood that this product is not licensed in this country for cosmetic treatment, although it is in the USA, Canada and most European counties. This does not mean it is illegal to use, it but you should be fully aware of what the treatment entails, the benefits and any possible complications.

Side effects are few and rare. You will be able to return to work after treatment, but it is best to avoid jogging, gym workouts or saunas for twenty-four hours.

It is equally effective on both men and women, and almost anyone can have the treatment. The important exceptions are pregnant or breast feeding ladies, those with certain neurological conditions or those on certain medication.

Dermal Fillers
It is a fact of life that as we get older the folds in our faces become deeper. Generally the folds and wrinkles around and between the eyes and on the forehead can be treated effectively by using the botulinum toxin, but those around the mouth, cheeks and nose are better treated using a dermal filler.

The structure of the skin deteriorates due to age, sun, wind, cold and pollution. It is the dermis layer of the skin that looses its collagen fibres, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Dermal fillers are based on hyaluronic acid. It is a natural non-animal product and so there is no need for allergy testing. It works by integrating into the dermis and replenishes your own natural hyaluronic acid.

The results can be seen immediately but there may be some bruising and swelling in the area for two or three days. The best results are seen after seven to ten days.

This treatment is especially effective for lip enhancements and treatment of the small vertical lines around the mouth as the lips become smaller and flatter with age.
